On Saturday evening, Nicky delivered the Irish Votes for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest and received a huge cheer from the audience as soon as he appeared on screen! 🙂 In case you missed it or want to watch it again, here it is:
The EurovisionFinal is taking place tonight and you can watch live worldwide via the live stream below. This year’s Song Competition comes to an end as the remaining 26 countries fight to be this year’s best song in Europe.
Nicky will be delivering the Irish votes once everyone’s performed, so sit down and get comfortable for the next 3+ hours – It’s about to get fun! Show starts at 8:00PM IRE time.
If you live in Ireland, you can watch live from RTÉ One.
If you live in the U.K., you can watch live from BBC One.
Only one more day until the Eurovision Final! Like previous years, it was announced last week that Nicky will be delivering the Irish votes. Here’s a picture of him getting ready for the big night – Can’t wait!
Weather’s been phenomenal in Ireland these past few days, so Nicky took the occasion to drive around Malahide and enjoy the sun. Fortunately for us, he used Instagram to give fans a little tour – Including a short music video to Ed Sheeran’s “Castle On The Hill”.
As part of the campaign, people can host ice cream parties this May or June and HB Ice Cream will send them some amazing party packs, as well as vouchers for HB Hazelbrook Farm Ice Cream. It’s all about raising money for Down Syndrome Ireland, that’s focussed on being the primary source of information and support to people with Down syndrome and their families. Tanya Sweeney joined the two to chat about the different types of Facebook friends we have, while Cormac Battle asked the people in Ireland about public nudity and what they thought about it.
The most touching story came from Anya and Adrien who told Nicky and Jenny about their daughter, Aoife Hendrick, who was diagnosed with leukaemia and, sadly, passed away. On the show, they introduced listeners to the clown doctors who visit children’s hospitals throughout the country. Listen back:
Nicky’s been part of the Eurovision World since 2013. He delivered the Irish Votes for 3 consecutive years and represented Ireland in 2016’s competition. Well, this year he’s returning to give Ireland’s votes on the show’s final, taking place on Saturday, May 13th at 9:00PM CEST (8:00PM IRE/UK)!
Eurovision just wouldn’t be the same without Nicky, so I couldn’t be more excited to hear the news. If you plan to tune in from one of the participating countries, you can watch it on one of your public broadcaster’s primary channels. Show will also be available worldwide from Eurovision’s Official YouTube Channel.
To finish a week of mostly outside broadcasts, Nicky and Jenny were at the Grand Canal Dock for the launch of Samsung Ireland’sGalaxy S8. To celebrate, Samsung created their own Galaxy Infinity Box that gives people an amazing interactive experience! If you want to check it out, it’ll be open until 7 tonight.
I have to say that one of the biggest highlights was the introduction to the FaceApp, where Nicky, Jenny and the show’s team transformed their faces to their older, younger and opposite sex versions! Check out Nicky’s picture below… Pretty crazy!
The broadcast ended on a high when they aired their interview with none other than The Cranberries!
