04.05.17 – The Nicky Byrne Show Broadcast

On Thursday morning, The Nicky Byrne Show teamed up with Ulster Bank once again, for an outside broadcast in Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre.

Tanya Sweeney joined the two to chat about the different types of Facebook friends we have, while Cormac Battle asked the people in Ireland about public nudity and what they thought about it.

The most touching story came from Anya and Adrien who told Nicky and Jenny about their daughter, Aoife Hendrick, who was diagnosed with leukaemia and, sadly, passed away. On the show, they introduced listeners to the clown doctors who visit children’s hospitals throughout the country. Listen back:

We all look forward to the Weekly Quiz on The Nicky Byrne Show, where we get to see Nicky & Jenny’s competitive side come out – And today didn’t disappoint! As a matter of fact, it might’s been one of the best quizzes yet! If you missed it, RTÉ 2fm streamed live on Facebook, so you can watch it back below.

Who won? Turns out Nicky did shout his name first but he didn’t say the correct names, so Jenny took the Weekly Quiz title!

Thursdays on The Nicky Byrne Show are some of my favourite days! Between Tanya Sweeney, Cormac Battle’s ‘Battle On The Streets’ and the guest from each week’s First Dates Ireland, there’s never a dull moment in the show! Listen back to some of its best bits:

Sam Blanckensse from TENI (Transgender Equality Network Ireland), went to the studio to talk about a very serious issue – The transgender community receives so much discrimination that a big percentage of them feel like they need to take their own lives. He mentioned there are various support groups in Ireland that help them deal with their mental health. For all the information, visit their Official website.

Also on the show, comedian Gearóid Farrelly chatted to Nicky and Jenny about the upcoming Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival.

Irish Rugby Star, Lindsay Peat, stopped by The Nicky Byrne Show to talk about her sport experience and the upcoming Women’s Rugby Cup. She also added that she’d love to take part in next year’s Dancing With The Stars Ireland! Wouldn’t that be nice? 😉 After the interview, Nicky and Jenny went outside the radio centre to show off their rugby skills.

Nicky Will Be Dancing on the ‘DWTS’ Finale This Sunday!

Get ready because the Dancing With The Stars Ireland finale just got 10 times more interesting! It was revealed on today’s Nicky Byrne Show that Nicky will be dancing with Giulia Dotta on Sunday’s show! Also taking over the dance floor will be his co-host, Amanda, the judges and all the contestants.

“He’s great!” said Giulia, adding that he picked the moves quicker than her partner this season, Des Bishop. Judge Brian Redmond shared that Nicky’s been giving the pro dancers and the judges tips in the studio, “You (Nicky) still got the old ‘Strictly’ habits.” – He’s also noticed how competitive Nicky actually is! (but don’t we all know it). 😉

Here some videos of the DWTS family joining Nicky and Jenny: Giulia, Kai Widdrington, Karen Byrne and Brian:
