If you were listening to The Nicky Byrne Show on Friday, you definitely noticed that Nicky left the studio quite early… and now we know why! He had to rush to The Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin so he could be at The Marketing Society Annual Christmas Lunch and Research Excellence Awards 2017. Here are some pictures that were snapped at the event. Nicky looking very dapper!

This cause is very important to them because, as you know, Rocco and Jay were born almost 2 months before their due date in 2007, weighting just 1.28kg and 1.64kg. Nicky talked about his experience on yesterday’s Nicky Byrne Show, saying:
“It’s something close to my heart. Rocco and Jay were born eight weeks and two days early so they spent the first four or five weeks of their lives in incubators in Holles Street.”
He also added that big improvements have been made when it comes to essentials like nappies and clothes for premature babies since his own children were born.
“Anyone who has been in that position will know all about CPAP (breathing support) and kangaroo care and all the words you don’t even think you care about until you’re thrown into it. It’s a lot better nowadays. Even in the 10 years since Rocco and Jay being born. I remember when they were born and were in incubators, you couldn’t by clothes that small. Some people had to buy dolls clothes.”
